Women empowerment is a simple word and doing rounds on media. However it is not a word but it is a way of life. Empowering women is crucial for the development and uplifting of the society. Only an empowered woman who has the wings to soar high and achieve her dreams. At times for women in college who are getting their education or acquiring some skills it is important that they are given full support in the scholarships so that they can achieve their goals. Scholarships will help the women to attend college with fewer students’ loans and help them secure their future and be financially independent. Some of the colleges are as follows:
Nancy Etz Scholarship– the Nancy Etz Scholarship is open for all students from all fields to study. The students are required to write an essay with prompt and if the essay is worth and of good quality then they are awarded a scholarship amount of $1000. Graduate and undergraduate women students may apply along with current high school seniors with proof of acceptance to a college or university.
The James Alan Cox Foundation for Student Photojournalists- these scholarships are available for high school seniors and current college students who want to purse careers in photojournalism. The students need to show their passion for the field. The scholarship amount is five $2500 scholarships for technical school or college applicants and one $2500 scholarship is for graduate students.
The Brett Ratner Grant- this award if for female filmmakers that was founded by Hollywood director Brett Ratner. It provides up to $15,000 in grants for 50 students enrolled in New York Film Academy. The students need to prove they require financial aid to avail the scholarship. They need to submit a statement detailing why they need to attend the New York Film Academy.
ESA Foundation Computer and Video Game Scholarship- The Entertainment Software Association Foundation sponsors this program. It grants 30 scholarships of $3000 to women who are interested in pursuing career in digital media and video game arts. The students need to maintain a 2.75 GPA to be considered for scholarship.
Mary Quon Moy Ing Memorial Scholarship- the scholarship is for students who are intending to study journalism and new media. Students need to show that they have the passion to become active journalists. Undergraduate students, high-school seniors, and full time graduate students can apply for the scholarship.
Judy Corman Memorial Scholarship and internship- the scholarship and internship are given by the Scholastic, a publisher of children’s book. Students looking for opportunities in new media can work as paid interns at the Scholastic, New York City. The students need to have a 3.2 GPA and declare a major in a field related to communications.
National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences- Pacific Southwest Chapter- the scholarship is targeted towards in career in television. The scholarship is for students in Santa Maria, Santa Babara, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, Palm Springs, California, and Las Vegas. The applicant is required to submit a script or video along with their application.
